As Presiding Judge for the El Paso and Clint Municipal Courts, I can appreciate that many people would prefer not to deal with the law, lawyers or the Courts. However, should something happen which affects you, your family or friends, our legal system becomes immensely important. When it is your case, when it affects your life, competence matters, proven experience matters, everything matters. You should be confident that the Judge hearing your case embodies the principles of honesty, fairness, integrity, respect, but most importantly listens to you.
We have the right to our day in court and the right to be heard without fear or ridicule. A Judge must have a commitment to understanding the law and applying it fairly to the facts of each individual case. It is important when we place our lives in the hands of the Court that we have the confidence to trust the Judge.
I believe in Justice and Fairness. I firmly believe in Equality and Integrity. I believe in our Constitution and our Judicial System. I will not compromise my integrity; I am not intimidated by public opinion; nor will I tolerate discrimination. I am committed to preserving and protecting our community under the law, to ensuring you are treated with fairness, dignity and respect; but most importantly, you have a voice and YOU WILL BE HEARD.
